Under the DMCA there is a "safe harbor" for internet companies that toss out major content pirates. The Fourth Circuit ruled Thursday that Cox Communications forfeited this safe harbor by failing to terminate users who repeatedly pirated music.

Food for thought: internet companies might be motivated to start kicking out repeat pirates. If you are someone who pirates stuff (or shares your internet with other people who pirate stuff) you could find that your internet connection goes away suddenly or unexpectedly.
