Stephen King's The Dark Tower? The Gunslinger at the very least.

Finished up Dune by Frank Herbert. Dune is pretty damn good and has far greater depth than I expected having read it previously (10+ years ago).

Finished Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn. The magic system and world building make this worth reading. Sanderson explores items such as religion, slavery, morality, and coming of age. My one complaint is the juvenile and often simplistic characters.

Read Ted Chiang's Story of Your Life. https://mathisgasser.files.wordpress.co ... e_2000.pdf

I just stared Andrzej Sapkowski's The Last Wish--time to read about our favorite Geralt of Rivia.

Story of your Life becoming a movie has me soooooo excited. I agree with the Mistborn character criticism, although I really enjoyed Sazed.

The end is so worth though. Just skim until you get to the battle and go from there.

Send it to me, I'll read it for you.

If you guys like battles and epic blood and guts type stuff I'd recommend the Horus Heresy series. I particularly enjoyed the short story collections and Dan Abnett's contributions.

I finished Andrzej Sapkowski's Blood of Elves and The Last Wish. I think Geralt is one of my favorite fantasy characters ever. The Last Wish is quite dialog heavy but it works really well with the kind of storytelling going on. Both books are disgustingly good.

I'm now working on Charles Krauthammer's Things That Matter. It's one of the more disturbing things I've managed to get my hands on to read.
