I don't know if you have or not but get a 2nd medical opinion if at all possible. Things are missed, ignored, mistreated, and/or misdiagnosed all the time. Good luck!

Yea this too. My dad at some point had 20 different people telling him 20 different things, so definitely get a 2nd opinion.

Physical therapy is incomplete. If you want a long term solution, assuming there is a way, you need to get a lot stronger. The problem is that most physical therapists know jack shit it in terms of dealing with long term pain management. If you can find a physical therapist that has a background in olympic weightlifting or powerlifting you might be able to find a solution.

If you want some online resources I'd look into Kelly Starrett at mobilitywod.com and Donnie Thompson (https://www.youtube.com/user/SuperDtv3000). I can't give you any specifics because I don't know anything about your condition but most of the time there is a solution.

My background in all of this is that I have been training people for many years, almost all of them come with at least one previous injury, and I'm able to fix most of their problems. At least well enough to lift some heavy shit (for them) and get through most of life pain free, while their PTs don't ever seem to do jack shit except for keeping them coming back to their office.

I was going to school wanting to become a PT for a while before I switched to CS, and I'm a competitive powerlifter and I've dealt with my own issues (knees, neck, lower back, and torn rotator cuff) while being completely pain free and still able to compete at near 100% of my potential.

I can try to help you as much as possible although it's pretty impossible to do most of this stuff over the internet. Just send me a PM and I'll give you my email and we can go from there. Maybe there isn't a solution, maybe there is.

There is such a thing as standard of care and to be honest it is bullshit. For most cases it works, but all cases are different and the standards aren't always sufficient. I would deffinaty look around and make sure the doctor you're seeing for this issue isn't simply just not informed enough. There may be other answers to this problem that the professional isn't aware of.
